Pastor Andy Weil

Summer 2011

So much has happened around our home and at LFA this Summer.  Sheryl has graduated from IUK with a teaching degree.  We have added Tim & Elizabeth Adams to our staff.  They are going to do a great job growing the student ministries of LFA.  My family spent three weeks at Lake Placid helping with the kids camp program.  Then we headed to Phoenix for General Council, man was it HOT....the hottest day was 116!!! When we were in Phoenix, construction stated on the roof ofthe church.  We had to replace the roof on the original building....only $180k...pocket change for the God I serve.... Now we are just waiting on Him to Meet that need....

The people of LFA never stop amazing me.  I believe I get to pastor some of the greatest people around.  I appreciate their love and dedication to this ministry and to the Lord.  In the days and the hours that we live in the bad news is always getting worse and that makes the GOOD NEWS appear to be getting better....however we know the Word never changes.  The darker the night, the brighter the light!!! I am so encouraged that God wants to use us to touch His world!!!

Blessing,

Pastor Andy

North Central University

Had a great 11 hour·trip to NCU last week.· I took the 3 guys up there to visit the university and it looks like they will be attending·in the fall.·It was a wild experience to say the least and it made me realize I AM GETTING OLD!!!·While we were in town we were able to see Pastor Phil Culham.....wow, it was good to see him, what a great man of God who impacted many lives while he was here in Logansport.  The boys didnt want to stay on campus Friday night so they came over to the Hyatt to stay with me.....YEAH!!!  We went to eat at Fridays and they were all flirting with the ladies as we celebrated Stevens 21st birthday. We decided to leave the Hyatt at 1 am and start for home and we got back to Logansport about 11 in the morning.... It was a weekend of fun and memories.·

Sheryl is finishing up her student teaching at Caston and has been praying for a good elementary teaching position.  She has an interview April 14 and we are believing!!! I am so proud of her...she has been a full time student, a mom, a daughter, a pastors wife, and worship leader, and juggeld them all well..... U GO GIRL!!!

LFA is in the middle of a sermon series called "CRAZY PILLS"  Its ok to be crazy as long as your crazy for the right things.  Im looking forward to Easter Sunday...its going to be a great day and the  LFA family needs to start inviting people now to attend..... It will be a powerful service and I dont believe one person will leave empty or disappointed......that all till next time ......im tryin to be a better blogger....ugh!!!

Something BIG is Brewing

I have been very busy the past 6 weeks.·I went to Dallas to the C3 conference at Ed Youngs Church, back to Dallas to interview for a youth pastor at SAGU, then to CBC to interview, a weekend in Indy for a mens champion conference, then spring break trip to Florida.· In the middle of all the go go go, God has been doing a great work at LFA.· The Spirit is moving and the excitement in the services is contagious.· We have added Bob Gray to our staff, he is our new family life pastor.· Bob and Bev have been a part of our family at LFA for many years and I'm confidant that as we plan for the future they will add a whole new dynamic to our ministrty.

I have recently finished a book by Shannon O'Dell called Transforming church in rural America.  I can't believe how this booked confirmed so many ideas about the changes that are taking place at LFA.  Somebody once told me "nobody likes change, except babies" and I have to agree.  Change is hard because the fear of the unknown.  I have been asking the Lord to give our congregation the vision to impact hurting people and families of our city, make the changes that need to be made, and a right attitude through it all.  "Leadership emerges when someone has had enough, when they say change must take place, and when they're willing to stand up and be used by God to make a difference."   Leadership is .....resisting the earge to settle!!! So, lets determine in our heart, that it's not a matter of if we are going to do this,  but it's a matter of when.  I am so ready to go fight hell with a water gun......and WIN!!!  Whose with me?????

Weekend

What a great weekend....if you have 80 degree weather in Indiana in the month of October you learn to ENJOY it!!!! We worked around the house all weekend and got alot of stuff done.  The highlight of the weekend was getting to marry Jim Roy & Fran Holle..... they are two older people in our church and they both have been through so much pain.  She kissed him right smack dab in the middle of the ceremony.....then she told me to hurry up...lol

Im heading to indy today to see David & Bonnie Curl and Steve Snyder.  Steve fell yesturday and broke his shoulder...he has surgery on it sometime today.
